“Terror” in Terrorism?

Eta_1Recently, a terrorist group called Euskadi Ta Azkatasuna (ETA) set off a car bomb in Barakaldo, a city in Northern Spain.  This group, along with the majority of the Basque people (a region of Northern Spain), wants to break free from Spain and become its own country which would include land in Spain and France.

Since the 1960s, this group has carried out many acts of terrorism.  The ETA’s main focus for these acts have been politicians, judges, military leaders and police officers; the death toll is currently over 800.

So our critical question is do you think that fighting for freedom and using violence is ever okay?  If you start killing people to get your way, do you think that your country will respect you?

Is violence a good way to get someone’s attention?  If the country that is ruling over you is already giving you many freedoms, should you demand more?

Here’s what we think:

Why should you fight your way to respect. the more you kill, the more hatred will build up in the people, and soon, a war will start.Thats the Deadly cycle on how a war starts!!!!

for me i wasnt exactly sure on how i felt on the eta`s dicision of violence, but one thing that i do think is how do u think the usa got there freedom.by fighting not just killing off people in our own country. i completly understand there dicision but was it right to do?

I think they should use voilence because they asked and maybe did all they could to convince Spain but they never really paid attention to them. So they went to the final level VOILENCE!!!!
