Those Violent Video Games….

Logo300x300In this current event, we are debating whether or not gaming is making kids violent, lazy and obese.  "Some children spend way too much time playing video games that are not age appropriate," says the English government.  "Parents should pay more attention to what their children are doing," argues a Blurber.

Some say that video games don’t make kids violent.  What’s more, it’s a parent’s decision about whether a child plays video games.

Here’s what we think:

So what do you think?  Are video games making kids violent or not?  Is it the government’s job to control the video games that kids play?  Leave us a comment to share your thinking.

I think that parents should choose wether or not a video game is bad because the gvernment has enogh power already! also you need more links on this page

  2. I believe that parents are ultimately responsible for monitoring what types of media their children are exposed to, which goes beyond just video games. I believe that the industry does a good job at providing age appropriate ratings to games so that parents are aware of potential violence or inappropriate content prior to purchase. The video game industry is continuing to grow and at rapid pace, so parents should begin adopting this type of entertainment and start paying attention to what their children are exposed to.

    Great comments by Andy above.
What also caught my ear when listening to your blurbcast was the following statement by Chaser, Girl or Thief …”The Parents are not paying enough attention to what their children are doing”.
Jeez. What a novel parenting idea…pay attention to what you kids are watching, doing, who they are hanging out with after school. I thought that this was on page one of the manual.
Government is not supposed to raise children. Wake up parents.

  4. Vampire Slaying Cricket From Zambobway says:

I don’t think that the parents are really paying attention to kids’ “activities” on the internet. They should pay more attention because if not, then the kid could be talking to some weird stalker guy from Minnesota! And I agree with Mr. Andy, because parents are responsible if their kids watch inappropriate movies or play inappropriate games that include violence. If you could rate yourself on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being your parents know nothing that you are doing, and 5 being they know everything you are doing, where would you lie? I would probably be a 3. Because on the commercials that say “Ask your parents before logging on”, I have never done that in my entire life, I have my own computer in my room, so they might not know what I am doing.
