The Destruction of the Gun?

891282348_lIn this current event, the EU is trying to ban guns, mostly because of a recent gun shooting in Finland. Finland has one of the highest amounts of guns per capita in the world. The EU parliament is trying to change the age to be in possession of a gun to eighteen—-although at the shooting at the school in Finland, the shooter had already turned eighteen a month earlier.

If the vote comes out in the government’s favor, the law will be applied in 2010.  Most of the guns that have been confiscated in EU countries have been converted handguns, which are sold legally in stores.

So our critical question is: Should the government control what people can and cannot own?

Here’s what we think:

What do you think?  Should gun control be left to the government?  Would that keep paper safer?

  1. The Joker says:

I agree with spider pig because someone could just hid a gun in a school and then when they think that it’s the right time they can pull out the gun and start shooting, And the staff couldn’t do anything about it. But I also agree with flying onion boy when he says that there would be an increasing crime rate if the government kept all the guns. But the government might have an advantage keeping all those guns if a war were to start.

  2. Flying onion boy says:

Joker, if there was a war and the government was involved, the government would have a major advantage, and whose to say that they would be doing something reasonable?

  3. railroad says:

I don’t think they should ban guns. I can see their point of view but what if a robber comes or something. Then we would have some defense. Well, bye!

  4. D-man says:

This is true that they wanted to ban guns but din’t the goverment have an advantage?
