When Should We Remember?

200516aSo I was rummaging through our Blurbcast recordings today and I stumbled upon one that we hadn’t ever gotten posted!  It’s on a really interesting central question:  What kinds of days should we celebrate as National holidays or Days of Remembrance?

Here’s my introduction to the Blurbcast (which I needed to use because my beloved Blurbers didn’t turn in any writing to go with this assignment!):

And here’s the actual Blurbcast file:

So what do you think?  Should Pearl Harbor be an official National Holiday?  What about 9/11?

Does having too many National holidays water down each individual day, making them less important….or is it important for us to remember those days that have shaped who we are as a people?

Leave us a comment to share your thinking and join us again soon on The Blurb!

Yes i tottaly agree finaly someone that actully care about this problen i tottaly agree how china would get mad at us for kind of “stealing” their idea of celabrating a natanal holiday. GOOD THINKING TTYL☺☻♥

  2. BigJ says:

I think that they should celebrate other days that were importent because they were importent to and it seems wrong just celebrate a few when a a lot of people died on each. I don’t think that china or any other places would start a war about it either.

I think we should celebrate Pearl Harbour. As president Franklin D. Roosevelt said “This date will live in infamy” I do not think 9/11 should be a national holiday because it is just reminding people of something bad.☻☺♥♦♣♠•◘○☺↨@§
